Introduction to Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen |
The Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen has many of the same characteristics as the PBGV, but just stands a little larger. There are, however, some differences between the two. He is a more noble headed dog, with longer ears and a longer muzzle, with a deeper expression. In proportions he is longer bodied than the Petit and he has a longer tail which is also carried saber-fashion. His coat may be slightly heavier but again should be harsh, and he has the same lovely eyebrows, beard and moustache. In temperament he is slightly more laid back than the Petit, although both are very active hounds.
